Veterans Day: The Road Less Traveled

Veterans Day: The Road Less Traveled

The Choice to Serve

Veterans Day takes me back to the moment right before I joined the military.
Today, we celebrate the sacrifice of our soldiers — the courage of those who stood up for freedom.

When I think back, I remember joining right after high school without telling anyone, except one friend. I didn’t want opinions or doubts. I didn’t want anyone to think I was taking the easy way out — because, truthfully, I didn’t have many options.
But I knew one thing: I didn’t want to stay lost. I didn’t want to forget what I could become.

So I joined the military.
I took the road few were willing to walk, holding my head high, determined to be the best version of myself. It wasn’t easy — it required discipline, sacrifice, and faith.

Becoming Airborne

Becoming an Airborne Paratrooper changed my life forever.
Jumping out of planes wasn’t just about courage — it was about choosing to face fear, to rise above it, and to believe that I could stand tall no matter what came next.

When people look at me today and say, “You’ve got it all together,” they don’t see the struggle or the price I paid to build this strength.
Every ounce of discipline came from sacrifice.
Every victory came from choosing the hard road.

Airborne school taught me more than how to jump. It taught me resilience, confidence, and faith — that I could walk through the fire and come out stronger.

The Meaning of Veterans Day

Veterans Day isn’t just a holiday — it’s a reminder of choices made long ago.
It’s a reminder of the men and women who decided to walk through fire so that others could live free.

I’m grateful. I’m thankful.
And I’m honored to have served alongside friends who became family — those who protected, guided, and grew with me.

Veterans Day is a reminder that freedom has a cost, and courage is the path that pays it.
